The Breeder’s Obsession
Carapace Aquatics is a specialist ornamental fish breeding facility based in Faerie Glen, Pretoria. We focus on a small number of species and breed them properly — with stable, species-correct water chemistry, dedicated grow-out systems and generations of careful line selection.
Our flagship project is the L333 King Tiger Pleco (Hypancistrus sp.), where we work towards bold, high-contrast worm-line patterns and robust, fast-growing fry. Alongside them we maintain rare Corydoras lines, including wild-type and selectively bred colour forms.
Every fish is raised on-site — no imports, no resellers. What you see is what we bred.
